Step 3 CCS Practice Exam

Take a full-length USMLE Step 3 CCS practice exam with 13 timed cases under realistic conditions. Our exam mode simulates the actual test experience — including time pressure, case variety, and an overall score report with specialty-level performance breakdown.

How It Works

  1. Select "Timed Exam" from the practice menu.
  2. You receive 13 randomly selected cases matching real exam distribution.
  3. Manage each case within its 10- or 20-minute time limit.
  4. When all 13 cases are complete, view your detailed score report.
  5. Review each case with explanations showing optimal management.

What You Get

  • Realistic exam conditions — continuous timer, no pausing, randomized cases
  • Score report — overall percentage, specialty breakdown, percentile estimate
  • Case-by-case review — see what you got right, what you missed, and why
  • Performance trends — compare scores across multiple practice exams
  • Flexible sets — take 5, 7, or full 13-case exams depending on available time

Who It's For

The timed practice exam is for students in the final 2–4 weeks of Step 3 prep who want to test their readiness under pressure. If you've been practicing individual cases and feel comfortable with the interface, the full exam is your next step.

FAQ

How long does the practice exam take?

A full 13-case CCS practice exam takes approximately 3–4 hours depending on case mix (10- and 20-minute cases). You can also take shorter sets of 5 or 7 cases to fit your schedule.

Is the scoring the same as the real exam?

Our scoring algorithm is modeled after the publicly described NBME grading criteria for CCS. While no one outside NBME knows the exact formula, our system rewards the same behaviors: timely workup, appropriate treatment, correct disposition, and avoiding harmful orders.

Can I pause and resume?

In practice mode, yes — you can pause between cases. In timed exam mode, the clock runs continuously to simulate real test pressure.
